Rachel Asked: RE: Council temporary housing unfair decision and appealing system?
I'm trying to find out for my friend as she's really distressed. She became homeless end of Feb and was put in temporary housing. She's had some really terrible people deal with her. She's suffering with a lot of mental health problems. Because she's moved her surgery will no longer see her even though she's only about 10 mins away in a car from it. She went in to the surgery for the last time in start of May where her Doctor was very concerned for her well being, access team where shut at the time so she called up the hospital and spoke with a nurse there and sent my friend with a letter to take to A&E to give to the psychiatric liason nurse or something. Sorry all this information is only coming to my knowledge since yesterday. She however didn't go as she was very scared they'd section her. She suffers with Borderline Personality Disorder, anxiety, depression, sleep apnea, IBS, asthma, OCD and I'd say agrophobia is an issue she has too along with paranoia. Basically the council have been breathing down her neck to prove she is sick. It's clearly evident upon meeting this person they are vulnerable and unwell. I'm quite disgusted with how she's been treated. She's been under a lot of stress again I feel bad as I didn't know. For nearly 3 weeks she's had no hot water or heating. She's been calling up the letting agent. She's just been left like an animal to fend for herself. How can people just leave someone like that? They' ve done nothing. So she called the council to see if they would intervene and help. She heard nothing for 3 days so called again a further few times. She was spoken to appallingly by someone there. I helped her put in a complain against them. This person mocked her on the phone to go ahead and complain as if nothing will be done anyway. She's had a dispute with housing benefit trying to recoup over 10k off her due to her previous landlady lying saying she's never lived at the property as she's trying recoup and fraud the council into giving her the discounted council tax. She's really been through the mill and this made her homeless. The landlady is an evil woman. Again I feel bad as I knew nothing about it so that's why I'm writing all this to try and help now. Well she's had so much stress with it all. It's deterioated her mental health. I had to come round and take her to mine and get her in the shower. It was so sad to see. I took her to A&E yesterday. She was seen by the psychiatric ward. I couldn't stay as had to go to work. But she's now being referred to the access team and has been told it could take 1-2 weeks for them to be in touch. Well she's called up hysterically about an hour ago as the council have wrote to her saying they'd been in touch with the access team and she's not under their care and therefore they deem her not vulnerable etc. Obviously this decision was made before yesterday. It't all such a mess. Also in this letter there are quite a few false things written by the officer who was making the decision on whether the council are responsible for her. I'm really concerned for her well being. I'm afraid she'll take her own life as all she's been through is enough to send someoen who's not suffering with mental health problems over the edge. She's been given till 7th August to move out. Obviously she's now going to be under the access teams care etc so naturally she can dispute this which it welcomes her to do so in the letter. However I have looked everywhere online and can't seem to find out whether her move out date will be delayed when she disputes this. I'm going to do the dispute for her as she literally can't do anything right now. She's such a mess and really stressing out. Her blood pressure was so high in the hospital yesterday they were very concerned as they said she was going in to the stages of shock. I'm so disgusted with how she's been treated. I'm surprised she hasn't harmed herself. She's only my age 26. So yeah if someone could help me find the answers. I'm sure her decision will be overturned as surely she's now going to be getting the help she needs. She's getting a social worker from the access team I believe and they will access her to see what else she needs. I think she'll need a psychiatrist etc. She's currently on no medication either due to her not registering with someone else. She's on ESA who deemed her unfit to work of course. I just really want to help her get better but with all this stress on her it's going to take some time. Her family aren't on the scene. Pretty crap she's been burdoned with no support or help off them. Her parents are vile. Sorry for all the waffle but wanted to put in as much as possible. She lives in London. So I need to know will she still have to mvoe out on the 7th of August even
Rachel Asked: What Could Be Causing This?
Okay, so I will sleep at night from about 10pm-6am or sometimes 10pm to 8am. but everyday for about 2 weeks- 1 month I have been sleeping through the day for 3 to 4 hours at a time. My mate said it could be sleep apnea. I not to sure. What do you think.
Rachel Asked: Possible hyperthyrodisim? Anyone have expierence with it?
First off, I am a 20 year old female, am about 5'7'' and weigh 187lbs. I have struggled with anxiety disorders for the past five years as they run in my family. I had my thyroid checked in 8th grade and I am sure again in high school when my anxiety started, but I don't quite remember. At the start of May I was 198lbs. So I have lost 11 pounds in just this month, more specifically about 2 pounds just this week. My diet hasn't really changed a lot, in fact I lost a pound over memorial day weekend and all I did was EAT that weekend. Over the past month my anxiety as grown from managable without meds to crippling, I am constantly having panic attacks, which are usually induced by a rapid heart beat. My resting heart beat is usually about 90 and sometimes reaches around 100 or a little more. When I have panic attacks it can get up over 150. Sometimes my resting rate is on the lower side of normal 70-90. But it has been rising easily lately, with simple activities like walking from my room to the kitchen or up and down a flight of stairs. On top of all this I am just constantly nervous, I've recently developed a nervous habit of shaking my legs or feet constantly, which I would HATE before. I sweat a lot, especially on my hands and feet and I can't sleep without a fan now as I find it hot in my room even when the AC is on or the windows are open and its cool outside. My period has been late the past few months, its always been irregular but it has been a little later than usual, it also isn't as painful as it usually is and not as heavy (not that I'm complaining about that!). I have also developed the lovely symptoms of insomina, I just feel like its hard to sleep anymore. I have a little bit of a tremble in my hands, but I have always had that, which I will chalk up to my worrisome mind. I get naseous when I eat sometimes as well, mostly when I am extra stressed or anxious.
I went to the ER a week and a half ago because of some chest pain and rapid heart rate I was having, they ran all sorts of test and said that everything came back fine. I had two panic attacks while there; one of which my heart rate reached 170 and the other of which my heart rate reached 125. I went to my doctor this morning for a follow up, I am suppose to be on buspar 5mg twice daily but got a fever from it the two times I took it so I stopped it. He perscribed me Metoprolol 25mg twice daily because my blood pressure was high when I went in and my heart rate was also 96 and then also 112 when he took it. The thing is, upon returning home and talking with my mom she was telling me of her sister and mothers problems with hyperthyrodism. And I know it can run in families. I called my doctor to see if they ran a thyroid test in the hospital (which I am almost postive they didn't) and I am also sure I haven't had one since high school. I am going to request one when they call me back. But I was just wondering has anyone suffered from hyperthyrodisim and what were your symptoms? Does this sound like it?
Rachel Asked: How long before prozac is out of your system?
I only took it for 2 days, 1 day at 10 mgs and the other at 20 mgs.I've been having more trouble sleeping and am wondering if it's because of this. This is one of the reasons, I told my doctor I wanted to stop taking it.I've heard it causes really bad insomnia and I already have not the greatest sleep so definitely not for me.Any advice, thanks
Rachel Asked: Does anyone have experience with Craniopathy and its effect on sleep apnea and snoring?
My 4 year old daughter has sever sleep apnea and snores. Our Dr. suggest removing her tonsils and adenoids. Before resorting to surgery, I am on the hunt for other healing alternatives. My mother-in-law's Naturopath has suggested Craniopathy as my daughter may have experienced trauma during her birth (she was removed by "vaccum" and was also resuscitated). This, she says, can effect the body's "knowledge" of how to breath properly. Does anyone have direct or indirect experience/knowledge about Craniopathy? Any help is appreciated!
Rachel Asked: How do you know if you have Insomnia?
So. I go to bed at 10-11 and don't sleep until 2-3am. I then wake up at 7am! And I'm awake all day, I also work 3-8pm everyday. I just struggle to sleep. What are the symptoms etc?
Rachel Asked: I think I have insomnia and stress issues. Help me please?
I usually can't sleep until 3AM and I sleep on the coach. No bedrooms are available for me in our apartment. So I just sleep on the couch. I'm really really stressed about school, family issues, and getting to school on time.
What can I do to relieve my stress and insomnia?
Rachel Asked: Hello… do I have insomnia?
Ok I'm gonna tell you a little bit about myself. I'm 11, I'm homeschooled, I'm a girl, I live with my dad and brother. Okayyyyy.
I don't ever get enough sleep. I wake up around 9 AM, and I fall asleep around 4 AM. Even if I try to fall asleep before then, even if I'm tired, I can't fall asleep. And when I wake up, I can't fall back asleep. I took an insomnia test and the lowest I can get is 8 and the highest is 46. I answered honestly and got 8… The lower you are the more at risk of a sleeping disorder you are. I GOT 8. Do I have insomnia?
Rachel Asked: Can eyelid twitching be a symptom of a type of seizure?
My doctor wants me evaluated for a potential seizure disorder. I realize it is extremely unlikely I have seizures where I lose consciousness, but she is suspecting the possibility of partial seizures or simple seizures (sorry I am not more familiar with proper terms). I have not been evaluated but anti-seizure medication has been most successful in helping my symptoms.
As a side note, I have a history of anxiety and ADD. Sometimes adderall does nothing and I can sleep when klonopan will esentially wake me up to function. Typically the medications work as they should, though, and adderall increases focus while klonopin decreases anxiety.
I realize I do need a doctor's evaluation and am working on finding a neuropharmacologist for this along with finances. I am simply wondering if, based on those of you with experiece, do these seem like seizue symptoms you have seen/had/experienced before or is it just stress and mental health related?
Ten points possible! Thank!
