fenix Asked: can’t sleep for following days after hard workout?
i'm having this trouble of not being able to sleep for days after a hard workout, sleeping problems had been common for me but given my condition this is turning to be one of the worst. Its been 2 years since i had engaged myself on a real workout, so i decided to enroll in MMA classes to get my body fit again, my schedule is M-W-F 9:00-12:00 A.M.. On wednesday i did my first session and i barely finished my circuit training, i was dead tired after.I got to bed at around 11:30 P.M., i only managed to sleep at around 2 in the morning and only slept for 2 hours. I thought that this was soon gonna go away since from what ive heard its normal to not be able to sleep that much on the first night after an intense workout, but the the following night wasn't much different. The back of my neck hurted like hell and i only managed to sleep for a few hours. I already absented my next session just so i could rest properly but im not getting any of it. Its already been 3 days since my last workout and this night my sleep isnt getting better, im always tired and sleepy when the sun is up but i'm still having trouble sleeping at night. I'm taking vitamins and recently took calcium tablets and fish oil tablets, hopefully this will help me get my rhythm back.
So i'm guessing my cortisol and other chemical levels in my body increased to a great degree thereby causing my insomnia, (and is probably the cause of the pain at the back of my neck) but its already been 3 days.
Additional note: i've tried sleeping in the afternoon on the 3 day span but still wasn't able to sleep so i don't know if that affected my sleeping pattern somehow.
My trainer is going to kill me if i dont perform well again on the next session and i can barely get up and walk. Please any help will be greatly appreciated.
