What can I expect for VA disability rating for Bipolar/ADHD?

Kristoffer Asked: What can I expect for VA disability rating for Bipolar/ADHD?

I would like to get a quick assessment of what I can reasonably expect for my VA medical compensation claim (knowing full well that it is a process that varies from person to person, not expecting any level of specificity.)

Here are the basics of my claim and I would greatly appreciate feedback from people who have gone through this process with a similar situation.

I was medically separated back in 2007 from the Air Force with an honorable discharge after a little under 4 years of service. The MEB determined my diagnosis of Bipolar 2 and ADHD did NOT exist prior to service/ or was aggrevated by military service. I never had any previous mental health issues prior to the military, so I do agree with their assessment. I am currently prescribed Adderall and Prozac and I have provided numerous medical records from the Air Force for visits with the base psychologist. I also have several letters of support that I submitted with my claim from people closest to me. My mental condition has been extremely irratic since basic training and tech school really, and continues to be a major challenge in my day to day life. It has contributed to a divorce, countless poor financial decisions, multiple affairs (almost non-existant congnitive decision process,) frequent panic attacks, an eating disorder, extreme irritability and explosive temper, long periods of depression and feelings of complete worthlessness, a job loss, loss of ability to remember important details at work/home/school, racing thoughts, sleep deprivation, and rapid speech (just to name the most dominant issues.)

My question is this. With all the supporting documentation from military medical records and letters of claim support from those closest to my condition, can I reasonably expect some sort of disablity compensation? I did my best to convey in my claim just how debilitating this condition has been in my life and how many problems it has caused. I know that I am not alone in this boat, so I would love to hear from people who may have had a similar experience.

I also submitted a claim at the same time for degenerative disk disease I was diagnosed with in the Air Force as well, so I don't know if that will be included in their determination on my eligibility or not. I have not been seen for the back problems since separating because I don't have insurance and specialists are too expensive, therefore I am not expecting anything on that front.

If anyone has any information I would greatly apprecaite it.
